Today (4 Oct 2024), Ms. Manop Jareonsri, Deputy Minister of Transport, revealed that from the fire incident on the passenger ship Flamingo Lady 2 at 11:00 a.m. on 3 Oct 2024, the incident was caused by an engine failure, which resulted in a spark that caused an explosion. The ship's controller, Mr. Charoon Rungsamut, sustained minor injuries and was taken to Thalang Hospital, Phuket Province.
